373 Final Game Final Product Post

For this project my group decided to recreate Sanctuary Island from Sea of Thieves.  As the scene was an island, I felt that we could get a good scene from it within the time frame, with our skills with modeling, texturing, and coding.  The mood of the scene is supposed to be calming, the scene at sunset with the sound of waves and the singing in the bar makes it seem like a crew trying to relax for the night after an adventure.  Personally for me I did not have too many problems when making my models and texturing.  The only issues I encountered were when I was using GitHub to work on a collaborative Unity project, I have never used Git so it was mainly just the learning curve of me, which group members helped with.  There was also an issue with uploading textures to models in unity, however it was just an outdated model that we were trying to apply the textures to.

The maximum tri limit that we had on the scene was 500,000 which we had set limits for each of our props to keep us under the limit as we worked.  Personally for me I had very few times where staying underneath the limit for the prop was a problem.  I was happy to have this "problem" because it allowed more tris to be allocated to the props that needed a bit more, and it allowed us to place more of the smaller props around the environment to add more detail.

I was one of the main texture artists for the scene,  I was given many models from other group members to texture for the final product.  Most of the textures I had done used the smart material made by Cole to keep the props and buildings similar.  A few of my other props used hand painted textures to give them more detail and have a graphic on the props.

My final work that I did was helping create the scene, placing more barrels and docks to help give us a good vantage point within the scene and make the scene feel natural and not empty.  I also created the global volume and added post processing and fog to add more to the scene.
